Description

The Chinese University of Hong Kong is an institution of higher education, established in 1963. It is described as a school, firmly rooted in Chinese culture, but continuously growing as a modern, forward-looking institution. Teachers and students at the school come from all over the world, with undergraduates and postgraduates counting up to 20,000, of whom 3,000 come from regions outside of Hong Kong. The university puts great emphasis on research, and strives to equip students with life wisdom as well as academic knowledge. The Chinese University of Hong Kong is made up of a unique college system, as each college forms a community of its own, where students experience pastoral care and whole-person education: they are offered overseas exchange, student visitor programs, seminars, mentorship and community service programs, as well as training in languages, IT and leadership. Extracurricular activities are organized by the college student unions, too.
