The Institute for U.S. Law is a non-profit academic and research institute in Washington, D.C. working to export the best of the U.S. legal tradition and to promote the just rule of law both at home and abroad. The institute’s efforts are focused on a variety of research projects and related courses, seminars and summer programs for foreign lawyers, judges, professors and advanced law students, exploring the nexus between U.S. legal principles and the international community.

The Institute for United States Law aims to be a fortifying and stabilizing influence in the realm of international relations and development, helping citizens of all nations to share the Rule of Law values foundational to any free society, and upon which the United States was built. The school and its faculty are dedicated to the education and training of non-U.S. lawyers, judges, professors and law students in most major aspects of U.S. Law and the U.S. legal system. To accomplish this, they work closely with a number of top law schools, law firms, federal and state courts, and agencies and departments of the U.S. government to offer a variety of intensive courses for their visiting law professionals.

The program participants at the Institute for United States Law become better equipped for leading positions in law firms, corporate legal offices, academia, the judiciary and government – at the international, national and local levels. Participants benefit not only from the school’s distinguished faculty and guest lecturers, but also from the many professional and social activities which the Institute organizes to enhance each participant’s “Washington experience.”

In addition to the on-site programs offered by the Institute for United States Law, the school also conducts a variety of other seminars, in Washington, D.C. and overseas, as well as luncheons, workshops and other events. They are now also offering several online on-demand seminars as a way to expand their enrollment.
