The University of Extremadura is a public Spanish university, located in Extremadura. It was established in 1973, and today has about 22,000 students enrolled. The University has campuses in Badajoz, Cáceres, Mérida and Plasencia – both cities with rich historical background. The UEx aims to continually attract international students, who wish to explore Spanish language and literature. It also strives to keep and strengthen the connections established with institutions from Latin America. The university is divided into 17 centers, within which various degree courses are grouped and made available. These range from more traditional subjects to ones that are fully aligned with current industry demands. The school also stresses on finding various work placement opportunities for students. Finally, post-graduate, Master’s and Doctorate courses and programs, created by the school’s prestigious research groups are made available to students, too.
