The Campuses and Facilities of the University of Southampton

  • The University of Southampton has seven campuses—five in Southampton, one in Winchester and the new University of Southampton Malaysia Campus.
  • As well as traditional classrooms, students have access to virtual learning environments (VLEs), enabling them to download course materials, complete assignments and submit coursework from any internet-enabled computer or device. There are also several facilities designed for remote group work.
  • The University of Southampton continues to invest in their campuses, creating state-of-the-art facilities for their researchers and students.  Recent award-winning developments include the EEE building, completed in 2007, the Mountbatten building (2009) and the Life Sciences Building (2010).
  • The university’s five libraries contain over three million books, journals and reports. Most journals and around 450,000 e-books are also available electronically.
  • The University of Southampton’s sports facilities are among the best of any UK university and include a swimming pool; several well-equipped gyms at their sports center and in some of the halls of residence; and more than 20 grass and synthetic pitches and sport fields.

About the World Universities Network (WUN)

The Worldwide Universities Network (WUN) was established in 2000, with the University of Southampton being a founding member, and today remains one of the University’s key vehicles of internationalization.  The organization creates new, multilateral opportunities for international collaboration in research and graduate education.
