http://www.bbs-edu.org | Contact this school | | Description | | As a dynamic international business school, part of the International University of Southern Europe, we are dedicated to educating and training students in a unique cross-cultural environment, offering an international business and management education at the undergraduate and graduate level, in English.
Primarily by bringing the American educational model to Europe, we fill a void that is left by Europe’s traditional institutions: the need to link classroom theory to real life applications and professional skills.
However, the ability to apply classroom theory is no longer sufficient as successful managers of today must have the academic background, the managerial skills, and the entrepreneurial initiative and moral to anticipate and solve the complex problems of the global marketplace of tomorrow. Its rapid evolution demands an understanding not only of international business methodology, but also of a variety of cultural differences and influences.
Our down-to-earth, skills and knowledge based approach includes employing renowned international faculty members, continuously reviewing the dynamic academic curricula, attracting a truly international student body, and providing a state-of-the-art study environment.
Through close student-lecturer contact and classes in relatively small groups, Barcelona Business School provides for a professional academic atmosphere to meet students’ individual needs in a truly international environment.
Permanent interaction is ensured so that students obtain a firm grasp of the course materials offered. In small groups (up to approximately 24 students) students are discussing issues, sharing ideas, testing theories and benefitting from our rigorous academic standards.
Faculty members are drawn from around the world, are highly qualified in their field(s) of expertise and combine a solid academic background and ample professional experience as business leaders, industrialists, entrepreneurs and/or consultants.
To prevent business theory from remaining abstract and inapplicable, most courses are based on the case method and provide students with a practical, hands-on problem-solving approach to contemporary business and management issues.
Students are taught in a pragmatic way with the use of simulation techniques, up-to-date case studies and the required theoretical background. They also learn to think strategically when making decisions, to empathize with their peers, to inspire team work and team building, and to contribute to the success of a project.
Thinking creatively and independently by questioning, rather than blindly accepting subject material is strongly encouraged. Throughout the academic year, students are regularly assessed through an ideal mix of individual and team projects, presentations, papers, mid-terms and final exams so that their progress can be assessed.
This highly practical skills and knowledge based approach to learning involves the continuing monitoring and adaptation of courses to the demands of the global marketplace with the assistance of an Academic Council composed of prominent personalities from the business community. | | Areas of study | | Accounting, Administration and Business Management, Administration and Company Management, Administration Sciences, Administrative Assistant, Advertising, Banking, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, Business Communication, Business English, Business Management, Business Studies, Commerce, Commercial Management, Corporate Communication, Corporate Finance, Design, e-Business, E-Commerce, Economic History, Economic Law, Economics, Economics and Finance, Ecotourism, Education Management, Entrepreneurship, Ethics, European Business and Management, Executive Education, Executive MBA, Finance, Financial Management, Global Banking and Financial Markets, Globalisation, Hospitality Management, Human Resources, Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, Information Technology, Integrated Marketing Communication, International Business, International Business Law, International Communication, International Cooperation, International Degree in Economics, International Development Studies, International Economics, International Finance, International Financial Management, International Hospitality Management, International Management, International Marketing, International Trade, Labour Markets, Language and Culture, Language Courses, Language Courses and Cultural Immersion Programs, Leadership, Leadership in International Management, Leisure & Tourism Management, Logistics, Logistics Management, Management, Management Control, Management Information Systems, Management of Communication Businesses, Management Secretarial Studies, Management Systems Consultant, Management, Law and Humanities of Sport, Marketing, Marketing Management, MBA, Microeconomics , Networking, Nonprofit Leadership and Management, Operations Management Technology, PhD in Management program, Production and Operations Management, Project Management, Psychology, Public Communication, Public Relations, Quantitative Methods, Resource Management, Shipping, Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Small Business Management, Social and Economic Development Studies, Sociology, Spanish Courses, Spanish Language and Culture, Sports Management, Strategic Management, Supply Chain Management, Sustainable Development, Technology Management, Tourism Management, Transportation and Logistics Management | | Language of instruction | Type of School | | English | Private University | | Type of studies | | University Degree Program, Graduate, Professional Programs, International Study Abroad Programs, Spanish Language and Culture, English as a Second Language, Language Courses, Distance, Online Learning | | Accreditation | Member of the United International Business Schools Organization, member of the Global Council for Management Education | | More information about Academic Programs: | | Barcelona Business College
