The University of Cantabria (UC), is a Spanish public university, the only institution that awards official degrees within the self-governed community of Cantabria. It is based in Santander and Torrelavega in Cantabria, Spain. Its foundation goes back to the year 1972, but in 2009 it was selected as Campus of International Excellence by the Government of Spain.
