Young Judaea's Year Course in Israel is a 9-month program for recent high school graduates who spend a dynamic year living, volunteering and studying in Israel. Year Course is also emotionally and physically rigorous and requires of its participants the ability to adjust to cultural differences and other new situations.
Description:
The Year Course program for recent high school graduates offers participants a wide variety of experiential, volunteer and academic opportunities. Year Course consists of three trimesters: two periods of volunteer/living experiences which take place in different Israeli community settings throughout the country and an intensive period of formal academic studies and field trips based in Jerusalem. Over the course of the year there are three major tiyulim (hikes) as well as local field trips, special seminars, cultural and social activities. Year Course participants are placed in one of several sections. All sections contain the same components but differ by the time of year in which they occur. The academic portion of the Year Course program is operated in conjunction with the University of Judaism in California.
