Volunteer Nepal National Group (Vol-Nepal, VNNG) is a local,
independent, non-profit organization. VNNG was founded in 2000 and
registered with the Chief District Administration Office and the Social
Welfare Council, Kathmandu in 2004. Registration number 380- 061/062
and social welfare council 18342.
VNNG was created to implement new initiatives and platforms that could
better answer the need for communication between volunteers and
community groups with NGOs operating both locally and internationally,
VNNG partners with organizations to support community leaders and youth
workers in Community Building, Rural Development, Education and
Sustainability efforts. Our model, which forms the basis for much of
our work, is an adaptable approach to community building in which youths
and adults work as partners to examine community resources, develop a
community vision, and take action to create meaningful change.
We work to assist and improve the welfare of the minority in our
society. Our work includes community rural sustainability development,
education and capacity building, information communication, technology,
literacy, economically self-sustaining activities, women and children

We are non-governmental organization (NGO) registered with Nepal government and affiliated with Social Welfare Council of Nepal working in the field of Agriculture emphasizing on development of Sustainable Agriculture in Nepal. Our program makes a positive difference in the lives of the deprived society by providing volunteering opportunities to international volunteers. We provide support to committed volunteers who have an understanding and respect for all races, religions and cultures and we aim to accommodate all interests, needs and budgets.
We provide Nepali culture and training for foreign volunteers who wish to render their services to Nepal in the field of organic agriculture in our demonstration organic farms surrounding Pokhara city which is one of the main tourist destination of the world. The farms are located in beautiful locations with diverse culture. Beside this they can work in the field of Education, Health, Community Development, Orphanage, Disable, Agro -Forestry, Environment and Ecology, Poverty alleviation etc.
We, also make visit to surrounding villages for cultural exchange program as Nepal is widely rich in diverse culture. Nepali culture is distinctively friendly and open and volunteers are made to feel as though they are part of the family. They can enjoy traditional rural villages especially in Gurung/Magar community. Hot spring water bath will be additional attraction during their visit. During this period, volunteers will have the opportunity to participate in local festivals and to learn more about Nepali culture and exchange their culture.
Volunteers also have a chance of adventure, such as white water rafting which they can perform in Seti River which is beside SIOF by paying extra cost. Annapurna trekking of the famous trekking rout of the world, a visit to Royal Chitwan National Park and elephant safari are other attractions. The birth place of Lord Buddha the Lumbini also can be visited in the same time. To enjoy diverse culture they can visit Kalesti valley where there is our organic agriculture resource and research center.
The volunteer program is available to individuals or to groups of up to 10 people at a time for the period of one week to three months. We would like to invite school groups, university students, adult groups and professional organizations who are interested in organic (eco) agriculture to create and run custom programs for cultural visits, service projects, volunteer works and internship works in our farms. Newly established Govardhan Organic Agriculture Resource Center is also another attractive venue for volunteering or to dirt their hand working in the farm which is under construction. Where, volunteers can enjoy diverse culture of different communities and a mixture of natural beauty in this area.
We therefore would like to work together with your organization to bring volunteers in Nepal to share their skill and knowledge to reduce poverty in this country.

Under the internship program, the intern engages in the daily activities of project. In most of the cases, interns develop a report paper in a particular area of interest by working closely with the project staffs. Generally, the director of the project serves as a supervisor for the intern.

English Language Teacher:
We are looking for Volunteers who can teach English to children in government schools clubs or any other groups. The children range in age from 8 to 17 years of age and other may be any. The teaching curriculum for each major subject is based on the students' standard book. Volunteers are also encouraged to create their own lesson plans. Depending on the subject, volunteers can bring along teaching materials such as picture books, instruments, flash cards, art supplies, and songs. Volunteer travels most part of the Nepal with our staff. Mainly we take class most part of the Nepal. Our program runs 1 week to 6 months. If you have a good english in vocal means, it is nice for us. English Language Program length 2 to 10 months. Meghauli Resource Center was created to provide a library & reading materials and English language programs to members of the local groups. At the center, multiple three-month English classes are offered to local youth and adults. The language classes range from beginner to advanced, Foreign English teachers to improve their conversational English. Volunteers will stay with a Nepali family in Meghauli during their placement.
Home stay / Cultural Exchange
Home stays and cultural exchange programs can be arranged in most touristy and remote areas of Nepal. Participants will be placed with a Nepali family in a small rural village. This provides the volunteers with an excellent opportunity to learn about all aspects of Nepali culture, lifestyle, language, food and people. Volunteers should remember that this is a cultural exchange and that an effort to offer some knowledge of their own home culture and customs to the family with whom they stay is expected. Participants in the program will not go through training in Nepal with the other volunteers. During their home-stay, volunteers will attend 2 hours of language lessons in the morning and in the afternoon. They will also have the opportunity to visit different interested areas.
Environmental Awareness:
After completing different training of first week, volunteers will be placed with a Nepali family in one of the the program village. The host family will live normally one or half hour from the school/Environmental Post. Volunteers will teach environmental awareness at the local school club or door to door of Nepali village each day, Sunday through Friday. Environmental awareness projects will be based-upon their areas of expertise and the needs of the village community. Example projects include: creating "green" clubs, planting a flower garden, planting trees, garbage management, recycling programs, Jute and paper bag training and more awareness program, etc. Volunteers may also provide own their ideas, skills and knowledge about environmental issues.
Community Health Post Volunteer
This Program places volunteers in health posts, sub health posts and health clinics. You work in either an urban or rural setting, providing primary care to locals in your specialty. Moreover, if you have doubts about whether your skills and talents are really needed in this part of the world, consider this: The doctor-patient ratio in Nepal is about 1 to 36,000. Particularly in rural areas, where much of the local people live, there is a desperate, chronic shortage of medical personnel and supplies. Medical school students' activities will include things like following doctors on their rounds, exploring different treatments for simple ailments, providing physical therapy, and participating in vaccination programs. A visit to Kathmandu is like stepping back into the 12th century. Parts of this bustling city are very crowded and run down, and other areas are architecturally stunning and home to numerous notable Hindi and Buddhist temples, monkeys, and ancient buildings.
Kathmandu is the gateway to the Himalayans and attracts hikers and climbers from around the world. There are numerous things to see and do around Kathmandu. Among the highlights are the Three Goddesses Temple, Durbar Square, Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Mahakala Temple, Pasupatinath and Bodhnath and shopping and bargaining around the touristy Thamel area.
