No two volunteers will have the same experience due to the ever-changing nature of the work being under taken at the Wildlife Project. During your stay, you may be involved in a number of activities, which may include:
Hand Rearing of Orphaned Animals
Monitoring of Sick and Injured Animals
Monitoring Measurements, Weights and Feeding of Young Animals
Feeding of Animals; Health Checks
Darting and Examinations of various Animals
Parasite Control; Bathing of Black Rhino
Maintenance of Enclosures
Game Counts; Anti-Poaching Patrols
Fauna and Flora Identification
Research Observation Done by Vehicle or on Foot
Collaring of Carnivores; Sound Recording
Radio Tracking of Leopards, Cheetah and Hyena
Observation of Rare Birds Nests
Reintroduction of Rehabilitated Animals back into the Wild

During your 4, 6, or 8 week placement, the majority of your time will be spent at the wildlife orphanage itself and then five to ten days will be spent either at Hwange National park or Matopos with the projects’ research team. There you will help with their leopard and cheetah research.
Equal amounts of time will be spent working on each of the wildlife orphanages' 3 major sections (carnivores, black rhino’s and primates) giving volunteers the opportunity to learn about each animal at the Project.

Zimbabwe lies on a high plateau, and its terrain consists mostly of grasslands bordered on the east by mountains. The Zambezi River runs along the northeastern border of the country.
This project is located in Zimbabwe, 25 km from Bulawayo’s City Centre. Bulawayo is Zimbabwe’s second largest city. It is located 439 km for Victoria Falls and 439 km from Zimbabwe’s capital of Harare. It is transport hub but has the laid-back air befitting an oasis town on the edge of the Kalahari. Wide tree-lined streets and suburban lawns belie the fact that Botswana is just over the border.Zimbabwe offers a fusion of old and new. There are museums, art galleries and markets in most towns and cities. There are restaurants and even an array of specialty fast foods to choose from....
