Ethiopia provides transportation and telecommunication services and is currently generating large revenues from this sector especially in providing this kind of services to tourists as majority of them arrive in Ethiopia by means of airlines. The air traveling agencies dominate the transportation and the current value sales are growing continuously. One of the major airlines is Ethiopian Airlines; it is the country’s national flag carrier and the market leader in air transportation. The company has 58 international, 37 African and 17 domestic destinations. Brussels, Frankfurt, London, Paris, Rome and Stockholm are the destinations available for Europe and Washington for North America. In the Middle East and Asia, Bahrain, Bangkok, Beijing, Beirut, Dubai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Jeddah, Kuwait, Mumbai, Delhi, Riyadh, Sana’a and Tel Aviv are available. Aside from passenger transportation, the airline company provides shipping services with cargo networks in the Middle East, Asia, Europe and Africa. The telecommunication in Ethiopia is continuing to grow as well with the Ethiopian Telecommunications Corporation expanding its services to nearly 550 towns, cities and rural villages in the country. The extent of their expansion includes 110,000 additional lines capacity in more than 15 towns added to their national network.
