The small country of Kosovo, formally known as the Republic of Kosovo or Republika e Kosove in its local language, has big reasons why knowing every bit of information about it is a must. The Republic of Kosovo is one of the Balkan states found in Southeast Europe, bordering the countries of Serbia in the north, Albania in the southwest, Montenegro in the west, and Macedonia in the southeast. It has 30 municipalities with the beautiful city of Pristina as its capital.

Of its population of about 2 million people, Kosovo is home to Albanians (92%) and ethnic minorities such as Serbs, Turks, Bosniaks, Roma, Egyptians and Goranis. With the Albanians comprising the majority of the population, their religion, Islam, serves as the predominant religion in the country dating back to the Ottoman quest in the country. More than 100,000 people are members of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the rest are Roman Catholics. Albanian and Serbian are the official languages of the country which are used for communications and medium of instructions in schools, depending on the area (Albanian used in Albanian-populated areas and Serbian on Serb-populated areas).

There are many tourist hotspots in the country which are greatly populated during vacation months. The country boasts of its churches and mosques which exhibit amazingly beautiful architecture dating back the Byzantine Empire. Some of these places include the Gracanica and Decani Monasteries, the famous Mosque of Sinan Pasha, the Drini River Waterfall, the dividing Mitrovica Bridge and the Rugova Gorge.
