Interesting places found in Kuala Lumpur include Petronas Twin Towers (world tallest twin towers), Golden Triangle (restaurants, shopping malls and five star hotels), Kuala Lumpur Tower, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, Tugu Negara, Dataran Merdeka, Putra World Trade Centre, mosques (Masjid Jamek and Federal Territory Mosque), fashionable nightclubs (Hard Rock Café, Thai Club, Beach Club, Zouk, Luna Bar and etc.).

Remarkable destinations in Johor Bahru are Dato' Wan Ahmad's House, EPF Tower (one of the highest in Kangar), Kubu Hill Recreational Park, Malay World Weaponry Museum, Medan Mountain, Perlis Craft Cultural Complex, Syed Alwi State Mosque, Perlis State Mosque and State Museum and Heritage Hall. In Kuala Terengganu, the interesting places include Pasar Payang (Central Market), Chinatown, the State Museum, Pulau Duyong and the Sultan's Palace.

Other places in the country provide some special traveler attraction like in Sibu (recognized in its parks and landscape), Sarawak (resort city), Teluk Intan (leaning tower), Taiping, Perak (for their local attraction and landscape), Miri (tourism-city) and Bukit Tinggi, Genting and Cameron Highlands (sited in Pahang for a cold weather).

Some of the popular historical attractions include Fort A Famosa (built in 1511), Stadthuys (created in 1650 and the home of the Dutch Governor and the deputy), St. Peter's Church (built under the Dutch administration in 1710 and the oldest Catholic church in the country), Christ Church (created in 1753), Francis Xavier Church (constructed in 1849 by Rev. Fabre, a French priest), Cheng Hoon Teng (the oldest Chinese temple in the country) and Portuguese Square.

The best time to visit the country is from April to September and the most horrible is from October to March due to high humidity.
