The Pakistani society is composed of many diverse cultures and ethnic groups coming from the Punjabis, Kashmiri, and Sindhis in the Eastern region while it is comprised of the Baloch and Pashtun which are both tribal cultures in the West. Meanwhile, the Dardic and Tajic ethnic groups dwell in the northen region. These groups have already been living in Pakistan since ancient times. The ethnic groups in Pakistan however were largely influenced by many of the countries around it. Some of these countries are the Turkish Persia, Afghanistan, India, countries in Central Asia and Middle East.

Pakistan was considered as a haven for various cultures in ancient times especially for civilizations that are considered as the Indus Valley Civilizations. The Pakistani people were known to possess the unique cultural practices and monuments that they have inherited from the ancient rulers of the place. One of the most remarkable influences was that of the Persian Empire to which Pakistan eventually mixed with. Going back to the Indus Valley Civilization, Pakistan has a very productive ethnic and cultural background. The cities had order and peace. In addition, sanitation was also very successful as well as the construction of straight roads.

Moreover, Pakistan also has fallen prey to several invaders in the past. Because of the series of invasion, other foreign cultures mixed up with what has been known as the original Pakistani culture. Some of the recorded invaders were the Aryans, Greeks, Persians, White Huns, Turks, Scythians and Mongols.
