Until the “Survivor” reality TV show, Vanuatu was generally known to Australians and New Zealanders only. There was not even a candidate who joined international beauty contests like Miss Universe or Miss World pageants from Vanuatu and so, the show hosted by Jeff Probst did really introduced Vanuatu to a lot of people all over the world. Because of the show, a lot of people searched and Googled Vanuatu on the internet after that and tourism just increased tremendously as a result.

When one is bent on going to Vanuatu for a vacation, be sure to drop by Mele Cascades. This nature park is so enchanting that most tourists could wish to erect a house there and live there for the rest of their lives. Unlike Niagara Falls, the Mele Cascades allows tourists to take a bath from the cascading waters.  A trip to this magical place would surely delight all the senses, not just the eyes.

Thrill seekers and marine life lovers will have a blast at Hideaway Island. Hideaway Island is an atoll converted to a resort. It is surrounded by waters of turquoise blue accompanied by a white sandy beach. This is for the thrill seekers because Hideaway Island offers one of the best dive sites in the world. Marine life lovers will just cry from sheer ecstasy to see all kinds of fishes as the whole atoll is surrounded by coral reefs.

Another unforgettable moment to savor on one’s stay in Vanuatu is seeing the sight of Mt. Yasur in Tanna Island. The volcano is active and actually spews out magma. In the evening, this magma-belching volcano would give a literal fireworks display in the sky leaving one breathless.

In Lelepa Island, tourist could enjoy snorkeling, caving and dolphin watching. Aside from panoramic views of the seas, the barbeque alone is reason enough to visit the island.

Actually, there are so many places to go and things to do in Vanuatu. Just a word of caution, three days is not enough.
