Accounting affects investment decisions; the tracking of profitability and it can assess the overall financial standing of a company. Suffolk University’s accounting department gets students ready for a professional career in accounting and financial management in business, government agencies and non-profit organizations. The program teaches tax compliance, auditing, financial planning and financial analysis and it is taught by some of the top researchers in their field. Many faculty members are active practitioners who have strong connections to the corporate world. Accounting majors are appointed a staff advisor from the Accounting Department to help them to plan their program of studies and instruct them on academic and career topics.
