Archaeology

Bircham University’s Archaeology program studies past human civilisations by using material remains. This course explores the growth of archaeology as a scientific field. Archaeological practises and theories will be described using case studies from Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia and the Americas. It contains the latest advances in the field and summaries its theories and methods in the laboratory, the field and the library. Subjects covered on this course include: Civilization & Culture, Prehistory: Human Ancestors, Prehistory: Migrations & Cultures, Ancient Civilizations, Ancient History, Archaeological Research, Archaeological Analysis: Ceramics, Archaeological Analysis: Faunal Remains, Archaeological Analysis: Soil & Stone, Archaeology, Archaeological Field Research and Archaeology: Human Origins. Subjects account for 3 academic credits each. The Archaeology course is available at Specialist, Expert, Bachelor's, Master's & Ph.D. (Doctoral) Degree Program levels.
