Computer Science
Computer scientists benefit from some of the biggest salaries and top job opportunities in the world. Studying in a major high-tech centre gives Suffolk majors an extra edge. Many of Suffolk University graduates move on to jobs in engineering and software development. Corporations like Amazon, Google and Yahoo have offices close to Suffolk’s Boston campus in Kendall Square, Cambridge. Suffolk’s computer science major is extremely hands-on. From the beginning of the program, students will get significant experience with device-level programming and direct exposure to networks, computer structural design and programming for a complete understanding of software and hardware systems. Many Suffolk majors go on to professions beyond software development. Advertising, television and film production, engineering and video-game design are all alternative careers that need computational expertise. A lot of students combine the computer science major with courses in art, math, engineering and design.
