Economics

Economics students at Suffolk University will scrutinise slow fiscal growth and constant high unemployment levels in numerous advanced countries. Students will also study escalating salary inequality and health care costs. In addition, students will investigate immigration, unstable oil prices, government shortfalls and debt levels, climate change and currency catastrophes and their effect on the international economy. Suffolk University’s Economics Department offers an economics degree. The economics syllabus is designed to get students ready for careers that need strong communication, analytical, arithmetical and critical thinking skills. These include jobs in companies, government agencies, financial institutions and international corporations. The economics degree also gets students ready for graduate studies. Suffolk’s Sawyer Business School has a degree in Business Economics which combines the economics major with a core business program.
