Environmental science students can choose from four areas: atmospheric science, biology, chemistry or geoscience. You will also have the choice of partaking in a capstone project, this project provides you with a real-world viewpoint on concepts you learn in the classroom. SLU's minor in environmental science needs a minimum 21 credit hours. SLU offers both a B.A. and a B.S. in Environmental Science. Students looking towards graduate school or working as environmental scientists are encouraged to complete the Bachelor of Science degree, which requires an extra 14 credits of math and science coursework. The Bachelor of Arts degree is more suited to students interested in a professional degree such as a J.D. or M.B.A.
