French studies at SLU-Madrid offers thrilling opportunities to learn another Romance language as well as Spanish. Students will be able to communicate with French speakers on campus and visit nearby France where they will be able to put what they've learnt into practice. SLU-Madrid offers: FREN 1010: Elementary French I, FREN 1150: Elementary French II and FREN 2100: Intermediate French I. When applying for jobs, having a legitimate certificate to verify the level of your language skills is important more than ever because university courses (even majors) are not always accepted as valid proof of language level. We urge students of French to take the DELF, the official language exam to certify the skills they achieve.
