Mathematics

At Suffolk University, students will master a wide range of core mathematical theories, such as linear algebra, real analysis, calculus and statistics. In addition, students will develop robust computing and abstract-thinking abilities. Whether students opt to concentrate in actuarial science or pure math, they will have the opportunity of internships with prestigious companies. Internships and other real-world experiences will prepare students to succeed in their professional life or in graduate school. Suffolk’s math community flourishes outside the classroom. Students supplement their classroom work with extracurricular activities, such as: Taking part in the Suffolk Undergraduate Mathematics Society , Enrolling in Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU), a program funded by the National Sciences Foundation and Peer mentoring at Suffolk’s math tutoring program, MATHshop .
