Spanish
Being fluent in Spanish is an advantage in today’s career market. It’s an even bigger advantage in the economic, media, business and political markets. This is because more than 500 million people across the world speak Spanish and it’s the first language of 21 countries. People who speak Spanish have a competitive edge and at Suffolk University the Spanish major is about more than just becoming proficient at the language, students will become socially fluent. Students get to explore Suffolk’s collection of films and instructional videos, write for Suffolk’s online news magazine "Entérate" or join our weekly conversation sessions "Tertulias". Spanish majors study history, politics, literature and economics. When they graduate students are set for a career in any number of fields, from non-profit organisations to international institutes such as the Peace Corps.
