The University of Girona was founded in 1991; it is located in the city of Girona, Spain, and is a public, multipurpose and interdisciplinary university. It has introduced a new Study Abroad Program in 2011, which is aimed at both national and international students. These are summer courses, taught in English: The Jews of Spain, Hispanic Studies (both four-week programs), and the Jewish Studies Intensive Program, which is a one-week program. The vision of the program is that students will also immerse themselves in Spanish and Catalan culture through activities and field trips included in the program.
