The University of Utah is a public institution of higher education in Utah, United States. It was founded in 1850 to currently offer more than 100 undergraduate and 90 graduate degree programs. The English Language Institute at the university is dedicated to providing a high quality preparatory-intensive English language program that meets the needs and requirements of students. The institute offers an academically-based curriculum for international students as well as for members of the local community. The English Language Institute at the University of Utah is accredited by the Commission on English Language Program Accreditation.

Admission Requirements

Applicants seeking admission into the full-time, intensive program are expected to have graduated from an upper secondary school or its equivalent and have previously studied English a minimum of 3 years. Students who request an I-20 from ELI must complete the application form and return it with a $65 application fee and an official or notarized bank statement verifying financial support for the length of study desired (approximately $3,000 per session).
