Brown University is a private, Ivy League university, established in 1764. The school is situated in Providence, Rhode Island, United States. Brown University's Pre-College Intensive English Program (IEP) is designed so that it brings together intensive English language study and challenging liberal arts courses. It is a four-week program, which aims to provide international students with the opportunity to experience an American "Ivy League" college campus, while enhancing their English language skills. The program is organized, so that during the morning students develop higher-level language skills, improve their English grammar, academic writing, and speaking and pronunciation, whilst also engaging in discussions on various topics. In the afternoon, IEP students choose an elective course such as TOEFL Preparation, English for Business, and Learning English through Theater.
