IES is one of the US’s most renowned organizations, specializing in the provision of study abroad programs for college and university students. It has more than 100 programs on offer, one of which is the study abroad opportunity in Salamanca, Spain. The program is carried out at the Universidad de Salamanca, which has been nicknamed the "Oxford of the Spanish World," established in 1218. Since then Salamanca has been receiving students from Spain and all parts of the world; it enrolls approximately 30,000 students annually. The city is a small, quiet one, situated on the northwestern corner of the country. It provides the ideal combination between safety, calmness and world-class education. Students have the choice between summer and semester programs, focusing on improving their written and oral Spanish language skills.
