University of Victoria - English Language Centre
The ELC at the University of Victoria is one of the oldest and biggest language centers in Canada, offering various intensive English programs as well as monthly courses to students. These have been alive for over forty years, on top of the fact that the center is located in Victoria, Canada – voted Best City in the Americas.
An important point is that the programs are only taught by teachers with university degrees, who have gained special training and experience in teaching English as a second language. The university features some national award-winning programs like the English Work Experience Program and the Homestay Program. Finally, the center offers free cultural and social activities like dances, karaoke nights, sports, arts, etc.
