Arizona State University (ASU) is a public educational institution, premier research center and a leader in innovation. The American English and Culture Program (AECP) within the university was established in 1974, since when it has been dedicated to providing specifically-designed intensive English as a Second Language programs. The program has been welcoming students from more than 115 countries. Since it strives to offer cultural immersion, besides classes, field trips to various places in Arizona and a good range of activities ensure that students become familiar with ASU and the American way of life. Full time student advisors are always there to assist with the students’ orientation, immigration counseling, and ASU applications, too.

Language Requirements

Course offerings are prepared to meet the practical needs of highly motivated students. AECP offers six levels of instruction by Master Teachers in reading/writing and listening/speaking as well as popular elective classes including TOEFL preparation, Business English, Pronunciation, Idioms, Grammar, and Conversation.

Fees

$1785 for one eight week cycle (not including $150 Student Activities Fee, Insurance, and books)

Housing

AECP students may apply for a dormitory or a homestay to experience American culture with an American family. Many off-campus apartments are also available.

Services and Activities

AECP students experience a full range of program-sponsored trips and activities. Activities include field trips to scenic areas of Arizona, such as the Grand Canyon and Sedona, horseback riding, picnics, sporting events, and program dinners and dances. AECP also has 5 language clubs: hiking club, book club, soccer club, community service club, and conversation club.
