The Azerbaijan University of Languages (AUL) is a university that specialises in languages, translation, philology and international relations. It offers bachelor's and doctoral programmes as well as additional qualification courses, organised in six faculties:
- Faculty of English and German Languages
- Faculty of English and French Languages
- Faculty of Philology
- Faculty of International Relations and Regional Studies
- Faculty of Translation
- Faculty of Education
The university is headed by Rector Kamal Abdulla. Its activities extend beyond Azerbaijan: it runs an Azerbaijani Language and Culture Center in Hungary, which holds its own academic semesters. Student life includes a university radio station, AUL Radio, and debate tournaments in which AUL students take part. Among the honorary doctors of the university are V. S. Naipaul, Herman Van Rompuy and Shimon Peres.
