Escuela Superior de Música de Alto Rendimiento (ESMAR)

ESMAR (Escuela Superior de Música de Alto Rendimiento) is a private, officially authorised centre for higher music education in the Valencia region (Comunitat Valenciana), run by Global Education Initiatives, SL. Its study plans have been authorised by the regional government since 2018.
ESMAR awards the Grado en Enseñanzas Artísticas Superiores de Música, the official higher music qualification, in five specialities:
- Performance, with voice, piano, orchestral instruments, early music, jazz and modern music, and classical guitar pathways
- Music Education (Pedagogía)
- Production and Management
- Conducting (Dirección)
- Composition
Students can also combine two specialities in three simultaneous double programmes: Performance with Pedagogy, Production and Management with Pedagogy, and Performance with Production and Management. At master's level, ESMAR offers two officially approved Másteres en Enseñanzas Artísticas, in Advanced Musical Performance and Applied Research and in Orchestral Conducting, as well as postgraduate diplomas, specialisation programmes for young musicians and a course for conservatory teaching exams.
Admission to the degree requires the Bachillerato or an equivalent qualification and a pass in the entrance test (prueba específica de acceso), held on the ESMAR campus.

Programmes
Grado en Enseñanzas Artísticas Superiores de Música, in these specialities:

Simultaneous double specialities: Performance + Pedagogy, Production and Management + Pedagogy, and Performance + Production and Management. According to the school, the second speciality can be completed in two or three academic years.
Graduate programmes
Official master's degrees (Másteres en Enseñanzas Artísticas), with study plans approved by the Ministry:
- Advanced Musical Performance and Research Applied to Musical Practice
- Orchestral Conducting
Postgraduate programmes: Diploma de Especialización in Biomechanics Applied to Piano Technique, and a master's programme in Performance and Teaching of Contemporary Music for Piano.
Admission
Admission to the degree requires a pass in the entrance test (prueba específica de acceso) and one of: the Bachillerato, the university entrance exam for over-25s, a higher arts or university degree, or a Técnico Superior qualification. Applicants without these can qualify through the maturity test (prueba de madurez). Foreign students who have applied for recognition of their Bachillerato are admitted provisionally until it is granted.
The test is held in person on the ESMAR campus. For Performance it is a concert programme of at least 30 minutes in three styles; other specialities combine a performance or practical part with an interview.
