CIM - Cursos de Formación
Vocational school in Barcelona, Spain
CIM Formación (CIM Grupo de Formación) is a private group of training centres for non-university vocational courses. According to the group, it has trained more than 50,000 students since 1985. It has its own classrooms in Alicante, Barcelona, Girona, Murcia and Valencia, and also lists courses in Zaragoza.
Courses are grouped into five areas:
- Veterinary: veterinary assistant, dog grooming, dog training
- Health and wellbeing: chiromassage, osteopathy
- Healthcare (sanidad), such as aesthetic medicine assistant
- Sport and fitness: personal trainer
- Beauty and aesthetics
Most courses are non-regulated training (formación no reglada): they are not officially recognised by the Ministry of Education and lead to CIM's own diploma. Some courses are official, such as the care of wild, zoo and aquarium animals in Barcelona, which leads to the Certificado de Profesionalidad AGAN0312, and a dog trainer course authorised by the regional government in Alicante and Valencia. Most teaching is in person; the group also offers online courses with one year of tutor support and some live-streamed courses. Deferred payment and financing options are available, and as a centre registered with FUNDAE it also provides subsidised training for employees.
