The Collège communautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick (CCNB) is a community college in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. It offers more than 90 training programmes across five regions: Bathurst, Campbellton, Dieppe, Edmundston and the Acadian Peninsula. This listing covers the Edmundston campus, at 35 rue du 15-Août. The language of instruction is French, except for a few specialised programmes taught in English.

Programmes are grouped into five schools:

  • Fisheries, natural resources and community services

Admission

International applicants need a secondary-school diploma (baccalauréat) and must meet the requirements of their programme. They apply online to up to two programmes per college year and pay a non-refundable CA$100 processing fee. Required documents are the transcript and diploma (or certified copies); transcripts in another language must be accompanied by a French translation with a translator's attestation. Applicants then sit the compulsory CCNB admission test.

Selection starts in November for the following college year, and complete applications are assessed as they arrive throughout the year; applying early is recommended because some programmes have more applicants than places. After an offer, students have 21 days to reserve their place by paying the confirmation fee (CA$500 non-refundable plus CA$4,644 for international students, the latter refundable only if the study permit is refused).

Language requirements

Programmes are taught in French, apart from a few specialised programmes in English. Applicants whose first language is not French, who have not completed at least three years at a French-language secondary school or a French-language post-secondary programme may be asked for a recognised French test:

  • TFI: minimum score 700
  • TCF or TEF Canada: level B2
  • DELF B2 or DALF C1

For programmes taught in English, the college may test English ability.

Housing

The Edmundston campus has residences, operated in collaboration with the Université de Moncton. Through partnerships with landlords, CCNB also offers a limited number of rooms, mostly in shared houses near its campuses; they are allocated to enrolled students who have submitted proof of a study permit, and a CA$300 reservation fee applies. A list of community housing is available for each campus. International students are advised not to make travel plans until they have secured housing.
