The Conservatoire national des arts et métiers (Cnam) is a French public higher education and research institution (grand établissement) founded in 1794, with its headquarters at 292 rue Saint-Martin in Paris. It specialises in higher professional education throughout life and is open to employees, self-employed workers, young students and jobseekers. Besides Paris, it has regional centres across France, in overseas territories and abroad (China, Côte d'Ivoire, Lebanon, Madagascar and Morocco). The Cnam states that it has 60,000 enrolled students, 16 departments and 22 research laboratories.

Subjects range from computing, electronics, mechanics, chemistry and energy to management, law, finance, human resources, health and tourism. Students have free access to the Musée des Arts et Métiers and to six libraries. Internationally, the Cnam runs 18 international programmes in France and takes part in Erasmus+.
