Deià Escola d'Art i Disseny

University in Barcelona, Spain

Deià Escola d'Art i Disseny is a public art and design school in Barcelona, founded in 1989 and run by the Catalan government's education department. It is one of the seven campuses of ESDAPC (Escola Superior de Disseny i d'Arts Plàstiques de Catalunya), whose higher design studies are equivalent to a university bachelor's degree.

At the Deià campus, students can take the Grau en Ensenyaments Artístics Superiors en Disseny in the Interior Design speciality, taught in the afternoon. The degree lasts four years (240 ECTS credits), with a common first year, the speciality from the second year, and external work placements and a final project in the fourth year. Groups have at most 25 students, and the programme includes international mobility through Erasmus+ and other agreements. Interior design graduates work on workspaces, retail, hospitality and housing, as well as temporary spaces, stage sets and exhibitions.

Admission requires the Bachillerato or a pass in the over-25 university entrance exam, plus a specific entrance test; applicants over 18 without these qualifications can sit the test after passing a maturity test. Two places per group are reserved for graduates of higher vocational cycles in arts and design. The school also offers vocational cycles in interior design, graphics, video games and virtual reality, and the arts Bachillerato.
