The Escola Tècnica Superior d'Enginyers de Camins, Canals i Ports de Barcelona was established in 1973, aiming to pursue excellence and an international research vocation. Currently it offers three degrees in the area of civil engineering: Civil Engineering, which takes five years to complete; Technical Engineering in Civil Works – three-year course; and Geological Engineering – five-year program, jointly executed with the University of Barcelona.
The university is known with the fact to have one of the most impressive research records in Spain, while it is also among the best European universities when it comes to published papers. Finally, the school offers a cross-disciplinary doctorate in Civil Engineering, with some of the subjects taught in English. It is aimed at students, coming from Europe and Latin America. International students are also welcome to do research work at the school.
