The Escola Oficial d'Idiomes de Lleida is the official language school of Lleida, in Catalonia, at Corregidor Escofet 53, and is currently marking its 40th anniversary. It teaches German, English, Arabic, Catalan, Spanish for foreigners, French, Italian and Russian, and also runs delegated public centres in Les Borges Blanques, Tremp, Balaguer and Vielha. The school holds the Erasmus+ KA120-ADU accreditation for 2021-2027.
The Spanish for foreigners department offers five courses: A1, A2, B1, B2.1 and B2.2. New Spanish courses start in September and in January. Besides extensive courses from late September to late May, with two-and-a-quarter-hour classes on Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday, the Spanish department is the only one with intensive courses. These have daily classes from Monday to Thursday in two four-month terms (late September to January and February to May), so students can complete two levels in one academic year. Blended courses are offered only in English.
Students must be 16 or turn 16 in the year they start. Enrolment has three steps: pre-registration with a placement test if needed, allocation of a place, and enrolment. The Spanish placement test is taken in person at the school.
