Septima Ars is a film and television school in Madrid that has trained audiovisual professionals since 1992. It is registered with the ICAA (Instituto de la Cinematografía y de las Artes Audiovisuales) of the Spanish Ministry of Culture, and the school states that more than 4,500 people have trained there. Teaching covers film, television, acting and audiovisual communication and is given by working professionals.

Its qualifications are the school's own certificates (títulos propios); students can also obtain a university validation from UDIMA (double qualification). Depending on the course, classes have 12 to 20 students. Applicants must be 18 or turn 18 during the course and have completed the bachillerato or equivalent; there is no entrance test or portfolio. Courses start at the beginning of October. For foreign students, the school provides the documents needed for a student visa if required. It has no accommodation service but can put new students in touch with others who are looking for housing.

Programmes
Diplomaturas (2 to 4 years): Direction and Production, Film Direction, Cinematography (Dirección de Fotografía), Audiovisual Directing for TV (Realización Audiovisual) and Screen Acting.
One-year courses: Film Direction, Camera and Lighting, Editing and Post-production, Screenwriting, Audiovisual Production, Multi-camera Television, Film and TV Acting, and Advanced Acting. Introductory online courses are also offered.
Admission
- Age 18, or turning 18 during the course
- Completed bachillerato or equivalent
- No entrance test or portfolio
Applicants first check that places are available, then send the signed registration form, a copy of their ID card or passport, two passport photos and proof of the place-reservation payment; the place is confirmed once these are received. Places are filled strictly in order of registration. Foreign students receive the documents needed for a student visa if required.
Deadlines
Enrolment for the 2026-27 academic year is open until all places are filled (enrolment normally opens in January). Courses start on the first teaching day of October, usually 1 October.
Scholarships and financial aid
The school does not award scholarships itself, but students can use grants from public and private institutions in various countries. Diplomaturas cost less than the same courses taken separately, the total price is fixed from the first year, and several payment options are available.
Housing
Septima Ars has no accommodation service of its own. It can put students in touch with others who are also looking for housing and give some recommendations.
