The Escuela Oficial de Idiomas Balma is a public official language school in Palma del Río (Córdoba province, Andalusia), run by the Junta de Andalucía and part of the national network of official language schools. It opened in 2007 under the Junta de Andalucía's plan to promote multilingualism. It teaches English, French and Spanish for foreigners (español para extranjeros), and students obtain official certificates, which can be apostilled for use abroad.
The Spanish for foreigners offer is currently Nivel Básico A1; the school states that it is adding a further level each year. For 2026-27, admission was open to a first-year Básico A1 Spanish course running in the first four-month term (cuatrimestre). Classroom courses have four and a half hours a week, on two afternoons (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday). English is certified from A2 to C1 and French from A2 to B1, and the school also runs short courses in English. According to the school, it is a small centre with six teachers and small classes.
Admission for 2026-27 ran from 1 to 20 May 2026, preferably online through the Secretaría Virtual, with a copy of the applicant's DNI, NIE or passport. In September 2026 the school announced that official enrolment would continue in person at its office throughout October.
