The Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de Granada is a public language school of the Junta de Andalucía's education department, founded in 2005 and located on Calle Villa de Oña in Granada. It teaches seven languages: German, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish as a foreign language (español como lengua extranjera), French, English and Italian, from A1 up to C2 depending on the language.
The school has a Spanish as a foreign language department. Classroom courses have 4.5 hours of class per week. The school also runs blended (semipresencial) courses, which combine work on a Moodle platform with a weekly 1.5-hour class session, and fully online distance courses. Free candidates (enseñanza libre) can register to sit the official certification exams held each year; they do not attend classes. According to the school, it won the first national prize in its category of the Marta Mata awards.
Classroom students must be 16, or turn 16 in the year the course starts (14 for a language other than their first foreign language at secondary school); blended students must be 18. After the regular admission period, applicants can request remaining places in the presencial and semipresencial modalities, including Spanish as a foreign language, through the school's late admission form; for 2026-27 the deadline is 31 October 2026.
