Escola Oficial d'Idiomes València-Saïdia

Language school in Valencia, Spain

The Escola Oficial d'Idiomes València-Saïdia is a public official language school in Valencia, at Pla de la Saïdia 19. It first opened to students in the 1966/1967 academic year as the Escuela Oficial de Idiomas de Valencia. It teaches sixteen languages: German, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, Basque, Finnish, French, Greek, English, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese, Russian and Valencian. The school gives its own figures as 110 teachers and 1,900 new places per year.

Spanish for foreigners is part of the 2026-27 regular (curricular) offer, with a Spanish department on the second floor. Regular face-to-face courses consist of 120 hours a year, with two-hour classes twice a week (Monday and Wednesday or Tuesday and Thursday), and lead to official certificates at A2, B1, B2 and C1 in Spanish. The school also runs complementary courses of 30 or 60 hours focused mainly on speaking and listening, which give a certificate of achievement, and offers blended, distance and external-candidate (certification-only) modes.

Access is through online pre-registration with the Conselleria de Educación (June/September) or a placement test. Students must be at least 14 by 31 December of the starting year. For 2026-27, remaining places can be taken from 5 October to 31 January at the school office (by appointment in October). A DNI or NIE is required to enrol; a passport is not accepted.
