The University of Borås (Högskolan i Borås) is a Swedish higher education institution in Borås. It has about 19,500 students and 822 employees. The university runs its own science park, Science Park Borås, where the university, business and the municipality work together on turning innovation into practical use.
Its research focuses on six priority areas:

The university is home to the Swedish School of Textiles, whose master's-level design students have created guide uniforms and accessories for the United Nations headquarters in New York, and to a library school (Bibliotekshögskolan). Doctoral theses are defended at the university.
International degree students apply online through universityadmissions.se, the national application website for higher education in Sweden; direct or paper applications are not possible. Applicants upload supporting documents such as passport copies, diplomas, transcripts and English language certificates, and applicants who are not EU/EEA citizens generally pay an application fee. Students from partner universities follow a separate exchange application process.

International applicants apply online at universityadmissions.se, the national application website run by UHR (the Swedish Council for Higher Education); it is not possible to apply directly to the university. The process:
- Online application and upload of supporting documents (passport copy, school or university diplomas, transcripts, English language certificates)
- Central check of the general entry requirements
- Check of the programme's specific entry requirements by the university's Admissions Office, then selection
- Registration, usually in the week before the semester starts
Applicants who are not EU/EEA citizens generally pay an application fee. Exchange students from partner universities follow a separate process.
