The Institut de Français is a French language school on the French Riviera, next to Nice and Monaco, that teaches French through full immersion: all lessons are conducted in French. Its intensive course runs for 40 hours a week, with lessons from 9am to 4.45pm, Monday to Friday. Classes have 6 to 10 students and are open to all levels, from complete beginners to advanced learners, with up to eight levels; students take a placement test on the first day. All teachers are native French speakers.

The school's "structuro-global" method is based on the spoken language and stresses its structures, sounds, rhythm and intonation. The day combines classes in oral expression and comprehension, work in the language laboratory and afternoon practice such as language games, role play and news analysis. Breakfast and a discussion lunch with teachers are included on class days. Optional activities include film evenings, French dinners and excursions with a teacher to places such as Saint-Paul-de-Vence, Antibes and Grasse.

Sessions last four weeks; two- or three-week enrolments are possible from the first day of a session, subject to availability. Students receive a certificate that, according to the school, is equivalent to 4 US university credits. The school also arranges rooms, studios and apartments with local landlords, all within 10 to 15 minutes' walk of the school.
