Lassen Community College (Lassen College) is a community college in Susanville, California, on a 165-acre campus in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. Its history goes back to 4 May 1925, when the Junior College Department of the Lassen Union High School District began teaching classes on the Lassen High School campus. The college also owns and operates a ski park, Coppervale Ski Park.
According to its mission, the college offers certificates and associate and bachelor's degrees, workforce training and preparation for transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Programmes include:
- Associate degrees, including University Studies and Associate Degrees for Transfer
- Career technical education degrees and certificates
- Health programmes such as Registered Nursing and Vocational Nursing
- Agriculture, Forestry, Fire Technology and Welding Technology
- Arts, humanities and social sciences
On campus, the Victor St. Marie Residence Hall houses men and women, mostly in two-person rooms, with a community kitchen, recreation room and laundry rooms. Non-resident tuition for the Fall 2026, Spring 2027 and Summer 2027 semesters, including the enrolment fee:
- 6.1 units or more: $438 per unit
- 1 to 6 units: $242 per unit
Other fees: student health fee of $1.25 per unit (maximum $15), student activity fee of $3 and student representation fee of $2. The college notes that fees are subject to change.
The Victor St. Marie Residence Hall provides on-campus housing for men and women, with a community kitchen, a recreation room and laundry rooms. Most rooms are for two students, with some three- and four-person rooms; four students share a bathroom between suites. Rooms are furnished (desk, chair, XL twin bed, drawers, closet and sink) and Wi-Fi is included, but linens are not provided. Rates are given in the Residence Hall application, available from [email protected]. Prospective students travelling 75 miles or more may stay two nights free of charge when visiting, if rooms are available.
