Mammolina Montessori International School
Primary and secondary school in La Cañada, Spain
Mammolina Montessori International School is a private international Montessori school for children aged 3 to 12 in La Cañada (Paterna), a quiet area just north of Valencia. It is authorised by the Valencian education department (Conselleria de Educación, GVA) and accredited by NEASC. Founded in 2015 as the International Montessori School of Valencia, it has a 2,600 m² garden with trees, a vegetable garden and a tennis court.
Education is Montessori-based and multilingual in English, French and Spanish, in mixed-age classes:
- Children's House (ages 3-6): English-speaking guide, introduction to French, and daily time with a Spanish-speaking assistant
- Primary (ages 6-12): English-speaking and French-speaking guides, plus the compulsory Spanish and Valencian curriculum (about 20% of hours)
Each morning starts with a three-hour uninterrupted Montessori work cycle; afternoons include sport, music and gardening. From 16:00, older children can join chess, art, theatre and tennis. Admission begins with a guided tour with the director, followed by an application, a parents' questionnaire and an admission decision.
