Pepperdine University is a private Christian university founded in 1937 by George Pepperdine. Its main campus is in the coastal community of Malibu, California, and it also has graduate campuses in West Los Angeles, Calabasas and Irvine, as well as international locations. The university is organised into six schools:
- Seaver College (undergraduate letters, arts and sciences)
- Caruso School of Law
- Graziadio Business School
- Graduate School of Education and Psychology
- School of Public Policy
- College of Health Science
Pepperdine offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees and certificates, with classes in person, hybrid and online. Seaver College offers bachelor's and master's programmes in over 43 fields of study. According to the university, over half of Seaver College students study abroad with Pepperdine.
The Office of International Student Services handles international applications. International first-year students apply through the Common Application, with SAT, ACT or CLT scores optional, and must show English proficiency (for example TOEFL iBT 85 or IELTS 6.5). Students live in on-campus housing run by the Housing and Residence Life office, and the university competes in 17 NCAA Division I sports.

- Public policy: Master of Public Policy and Master of Middle East Policy Studies
- Health science: Master's in Nursing and online MS in Speech-Language Pathology
- Arts and religion (Seaver): MFA in Writing for Screen and Television, MA in Religion, Master of Divinity
Pepperdine treats as international any applicant without US citizenship or permanent residence. International first-year applicants to Seaver College submit:
- The Common Application with the Pepperdine Questions and Writing Supplement, and a $70 non-refundable application fee
- Official high school transcripts (with English translations) and, where applicable, official external exam results such as A levels or the IB
- One academic recommendation from a core-subject teacher or counsellor
- Proof of English proficiency
SAT, ACT or CLT scores are optional. There are intakes in January (spring) and August (fall). After accepting the offer and paying the deposit, students receive the I-20 form for the F-1 student visa.
International first-year applicants prove English proficiency with one of the following, among other options:
- TOEFL iBT 85 or above (MyBest Scores not accepted)
- IELTS overall 6.5 or above
- Duolingo English Test 120 or above
- Cambridge C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency 186 or above
- LanguageCert Academic 70 or above
- SAT Evidence-Based Reading and Writing 600 or ACT Reading 24
- Four years at a high school taught in English
Test scores must be no more than two years old at the time of application.
Undergraduate (Seaver College) costs for new students living on campus in the 2026-27 academic year:
- Flat-rate tuition (12-18 units per semester): US$74,370 per year
- Housing and food: US$20,490 per year
- Wellness fee US$580 and campus life fee US$252 per year
The estimated total cost of attendance, including books, transport and personal expenses, is US$99,258. Health insurance of about US$1,362 per semester may be added for students without other coverage.
