Sciences Po is an international research university in the humanities and social sciences, founded in 1872. Its statutes combine principles of public and private law within the French public higher education system. It has seven campuses in France: Dijon, Le Havre, Menton, Nancy, Paris, Poitiers and Reims. According to the university, it has 13,500 students, 40% of them international, from 150 nationalities, along with 445 university partnerships and 65 dual degrees. The university states that it ranks 4th worldwide in Politics in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025.

Applicants with a non-French secondary school diploma apply through an international admissions pathway: a written application followed by a remote interview. Master's applicants with a non-French bachelor's degree (180 ECTS credits or equivalent) use the international graduate procedure. Tuition fees are waived for CROUS scholarship holders and students from low-income families, and 36% of students receive scholarships or financial aid.

Undergraduate studies take place at the Undergraduate College, which leads to the Sciences Po Bachelor's degree on seven campuses (Dijon, Le Havre, Menton, Nancy, Paris, Poitiers and Reims), with geographical minors. International applicants may apply to two programmes, including dual degrees, for example with Freie Universität Berlin, Hong Kong University, Keio University, ESCP and Luiss.

Admission Requirements

Bachelor's degree: the international pathway is for applicants with a non-French secondary school diploma (for example the IB Diploma, A-levels, Abitur, Maturité suisse or a US high school diploma). The written application is assessed on secondary school exams, academic performance and progress, and the academic project and motivation; shortlisted candidates have a remote interview. The application fee is 150 euros (non-refundable). For the 2027 intake, applications are accepted on a rolling basis until 1 March 2027.

Master's programmes: applicants need a non-French bachelor's degree (180 ECTS credits or equivalent), references, a language test, supporting documents and a motivation letter. Selection has an admissibility stage and an admission stage.

Fees

Tuition fees for students starting in September 2026 (2026-27 academic year):

  • Students whose parents' tax residence is outside the European Economic Area: €14,900 per year (bachelor's) and €20,640 per year (master's)
  • Students whose tax residence is in France or the EEA: from €0 to €14,900 (bachelor's) and from €0 to €20,640 (master's), depending on household resources

Dates and Deadlines

International undergraduate admissions, 2027 intake (Paris time, 11.59pm):

  • Apply by 4 November 2026: results in mid-January 2027
  • Apply by 13 January 2027: results at the beginning of April 2027
  • Apply by 1 March 2027: results in early May 2027
  • Émile Boutmy Scholarship: 13 January 2027

Financial Aid

Sciences Po waives tuition fees for students who receive the CROUS scholarship and for students from low-income families. According to the university, 36% of students receive scholarships or financial aid, and €11.5 million is set aside for grants and other aid. International undergraduate applicants can apply for the Émile Boutmy Scholarship by selecting it in their online application (deadline for the 2027 intake: 13 January 2027).
