Sheffield Hallam University is a university in Sheffield, UK, with two campuses: City Campus on Howard Street and Collegiate Campus on Collegiate Crescent. According to the university, it has about 31,000 students, nearly 4,000 staff and 345,000 alumni, and it received Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF). Its "career promise" offers lifelong career support and a guaranteed internship for students who need one.

Admission Requirements

Students from outside the UK can apply for undergraduate degrees either through UCAS or directly to the university, using its online application form; postgraduate courses (master's, PhDs, degree apprenticeships and PGCEs) have their own application route. Exchange students can study at Sheffield Hallam for a full year or a semester. The university advises applicants to write their personal statement in their own words and to use AI tools only with care. Questions can be sent through the online enquiry form.

Housing

Full-time undergraduates are guaranteed a place in university halls in their first year. There are 10 halls, all within walking distance of both campuses; rent includes bills, contents insurance and Wi-Fi, and halls are registered with the Snug housing scheme. Weekly rents range from £96 to £185. Applications for the September 2026 intake are open and can be made as soon as a student has an offer. For private housing, the university runs Sheffield Hallam Studentpad, and a Residential Support team and 24-hour security are available.
