St. Joseph's Academy (SJA) is a Catholic, all-girls, college-preparatory high school for grades 9 to 12 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States. It was founded in 1868 by the Sisters of St. Joseph, whose charism shapes its mission of faith development, academic study and personal growth. SJA has received the National Blue Ribbon School award five times (1991, 1996, 2002, 2016 and 2023).

The curriculum is college-preparatory and, according to the school, exceeds the standards required by the state of Louisiana. It combines:

  • College-prep core classes
  • Honors and Advanced Placement courses (25 AP courses in 2026-27)
  • Dual-enrollment classes
  • Electives such as Choir, Dance, Art, Drama, Media Arts, Computer Science and Entrepreneurship

Theology is taught in all four years, alongside daily prayer, liturgies, retreats and required service hours. Each student has her own device in a one-to-one technology programme, and students receive guidance from grade-level counsellors and two full-time college advisors. Students of all faiths and backgrounds with the academic ability and motivation to succeed may apply; the school holds an Open House each year on the third Thursday in October and offers private tours by appointment. Tuition assistance is awarded each year.
