The University of Cumbria is a university in North West England, established in 2007, whose history goes back to 1882 through its predecessor institutions. It is a Cathedrals Group university and has campuses in Carlisle (Fusehill Street and Brampton Road), Lancaster, Ambleside in the Lake District, Barrow-in-Furness and London. The Ambleside campus lies within a UNESCO World Heritage site and is home to science and environment courses.
Cumbria offers undergraduate degrees, top-up degrees and degrees with an integrated foundation year, postgraduate taught and research degrees, PGCE teacher training, apprenticeships and short professional courses. Its main areas include:
- Nursing, midwifery, paramedic science, physiotherapy and occupational therapy
- Medicine (graduate entry, Pears Cumbria School of Medicine)

New international students must book accommodation before travelling, live less than one hour from their campus, and pay hall fees in full upfront.
