The University of Extremadura was established in 1973 and is especially proud of the fact that since then it has undergone significant development and growth. Currently, UEX offers 90 different degrees across 4 campuses and 17 university faculties and schools. Furthermore, the University of Extremadura receives more than 500 foreign students through cooperation agreements with universities around the world. The Spanish courses for foreigners offered by the school are part of a project, which has been working since the eighties. The courses are taught by professors from the University of Extremadura and are absolute experts in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign Language. A vital element in the methodology applied is the following of the "Action-Oriented Approach" adopted by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
